Obama speaks to 15,000 while ignoring 2 million gathering under his helicopter as he lifted off from the lawn of the White House. Was he aware we were there? Why do you think his handlers had him slinking out of town? His absconding not only was insulting – this was an unusual Saturday Health Care Rally he was leaving to attend - but also insulting to all the people wo spent their hard earned money to come to Washington D.C. This epitomizes the very nature of why we have such disrespect for those who are gaining power in our Nations Capitol, utilizing ungodly amounts of campaign funds and meeting in backrooms to choose who can give them the best chance to be elected and what seat in power they must give them. Obama's appearance in Michigan where the Republican convention was held, and during the Tea Parties 912 march, was a tit for a tat by his handlers as usual. The 912 march was such a success it won't matter where he runs off to. We have fired the first shot across Washington’s bow and if they chose to ignore us they have been warned and have absolutely NO excuses for future events.
Several major arteries in DC were shut down to heavy inbound traffic of the large numbers of protesters arriving for the demonstration starting Saturday at 10am with the March and the Protest Rally beginning at and near Freedom Plaza, which became overfilled quickly. The march had to start early because the gathering of protesters was getting bigger than anticipated and even the streets were immediately filled in by new protesters. Indeed, it was a challenge to walk on Capitol Hill due to all the protesters. The Tea Party was a vehicle for protesters to express their mounting displeasure with their government but they were respectfully and the police told some of us that we were the largest and nicest protest they had ever seen. We thanked them as we left for keeping us safe. They seemed a little surprised that we were showing genuine appreciation for the great job they performed. The DC Police Dept should be proud for their excellent work on 9-12. We are.
The true number may never be known, because many of the protesters started leaving around 1:00, while new protesters were continuing to arrive, even at 3:00 (I heard some reports that people were still coming in at 5:00, but I was already gone). . Time lapse footage of protesters marching down Pennsylvania Avenue, and rare footage from the terrace of the US Capitol building illustrate the gathering of people who attended the event. Some of us TEA Party protesters rode the route in wheelchairs, others in strollers. I want to know if DC had to spend a ton of money cleaning up the trash left behind by the tea party protesters, they way they did after Obama’s inauguration.
The immense numbers being reported attending the Tea Party March on Washington must constitute a sobering wake up call to members of the political class. The media has miss-construed and played with the numbers in attendance for the Tea Party March on Washington. From rooftop cameras you can easily see numbers that appear well over 1,000,000 but this does not take into consideration that many people were already at the Capitol when before the Marchers even started. The police, once the entire front of the Capitol building was filled (supposedly that holds 240,000 people alone) stopped people from coming in. Many people could not even get on the mall because it was filled because police were evidently concerned about the density of the crowd size in an area. Many older people left by one but people were continually coming well into the afternoon. Remember, getting into D.C. was extremely difficult because the roads were filled with traffic. Also, there were 450 bus permits issued for the protest and a substantial number more Metro tickets sold than usual (Public Knowledge). This doesn’t even take into consideration the gorge of people coming out of Union Station. It was truly marvelous and mind boggling to see. No wonder Pres. Obama skedaddled out of town.
The 912 March was clearly a collaboration of dozens – perhaps hundreds – of grassroots movements, though Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Reid unfortunately hissed to the media that we are nothing but store bought protestors - like union members or ACORN hourly hires - by big money corporations. In doing so they have opened the eyes of the common man and woman to what scum we have in Washington in power representing us and we will not forget. The damage they have done will be paid for with retribution at the polls. They have no idea, but they will.
For Reid, I propose that we simply boycott Las Vegas until they come to their senses. If they want to send Harry Reid to Washington to torment the nation, we want to send our money some place other than Las Vegas by not visiting there city until he is no longer in power. Simple message, if you ask me, and simple to do. This would be their worst nightmare: The nation takes its anger out on the very people who keep sending Harry Reid back to Washington – Las Vegas, and Search Light, NV. Also, I propose that we all contribute fungible money to his opponent in this next election campaign. No longer can we sit on the sidelines because if we ALL send money we have a very good opportunity to retire him and he can get a real job and find out just what the hell he has done to the American small business and working family. Do you really think he would ever truly work another day in his life? Forget it. These people are pretty worthless when they leave Washington. They can’t run a small lawn service business, especially if they had to actually work. Money talks, especially in Vegas. If we dry up that town of our visitation, ole Harry would probably find his feet in concrete in Lake Mead.
The march in DC is not only a wakeup call to Las Vegas if they don’t do something about Senator Reid, but a sobering wakeup call to members of the political class – especially Nancy Pelosi. Remember, this march was mostly spontaneous while the MLKJr march was highly planned and funded by several large organizations for months before the event. I believe it was comparable or larger than the anointing of President Obama. When you consider that the Tea Party March on Washington was accompanied by smaller protest rallies across the country, we were substantially larger. Politicians write the people off back home on 9-12 at their peril. In 2010 we are going to strike the ballot with our fist of anger and we are going to cast out this socialist leaning rabble. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth – both Republican and Democrats. We want people in the center who have common sense, who have flexibility and who are not trying to destroy the nation by transforming it into their image or what they have as a concept of America: A big lumbering buffoon nation that has to be apologized for, even on foreign soil. Give me a Reagan any day. Today, those in power don’t even stand in his shadow. You can bet the world would not be looking at us as headed by a weakling while our enemies talk us to death as we take down the missile shields to protect America (not Europe – we will still protect them – big deal for us, huh?) and they continue whistling to the Atomic hidden facilities to get some more centrifuges going. What fools we have become. No wonder George W. Bush said about President Obama: “This cat doesn’t have a clue.”
Patriots
In the process we have grown as individuals, as a community of Patriots, and as Americans. The DC protest was also a “…crossing of another kind, a bridge across the country, the gigantic ‘thud’ of the Patriots’ cannonball stinging message, landing on the Capitol and White House grounds, with a thud” as someone else put it. The attempt and all the others at painting protesters as people with extreme views is not going to work. Mason Weaver, a motivational speaker, author and conservative Republican, spoke to the protesters, telling them that he wants them to "hear a black man speak to you without a Teleprompter". His presentation was mesmerizing and we were all in awe of his message and in the power of his words. This man is a true Patriot spokesman that anyone would be proud to have him speak in their community. We don’t care about his color, we care about his character! That's what we want in our leaders: Character! We only saw the greatness of his words and their meaning, not the color of Mr. Weaver’s skin. It was a privilege to hear him speak and I hope to hear him again next year in DC on 9-12 when we attend the 2 Million-Patriot March!
Tea Party Patriots have a video up at this time on their homepage featuring a portion of the speakers from C-Spans site. (Http://www.teapartypatriots.ning.com) C-Span did an excellent job. It was a little disappointing though that they had to cut the event down by about ½ but I am extremely grateful that they put it up on their site where it will remain in perpetuity in their Archives under the 912 March.
It extremely disappointing the major news media ABC, CBS, NBC saw fit not to cover or report on this massive march and report on its ramifications for the nation. Many of the other media was non-existent or deceptive in their reporting. They have truly missed an extremely important flex point in American politics and will be skewed by Historians for their bias and sins of omission at this extremely important warning shot to our Government. They refused to objectively, and with any depth, uncover the true message and the discontent of True -American Patriots of this time and their concern that our nation is on the wrong path and is headed onto the path of Socialism one law and regulation at a time.
Protesters
If you ever get the opportunity to sing the national anthem in a large crowd of patriots, like over a million, I highly recommend that you take it. In other words, I expect you to be there next year. It was humbling to see all the great patriots that were able to attend, march on Washington to protest big government, big government spending, big government printing of money, big government deficits, big government caused unemployment, and wimpy leadership. Many of the Patriots marching were from the “Great Generation” – WWII Veterans and just all around great family men and women, and from every conflict and war since then, up to the present. We ought not to throw off their voices with little concern and call them un-American and Astroturf and users of Nazi symbols; some of these people killed Nazis so that we can march and protest today. How many sitting at a desk in the White House or Capitol had to do these deeds for their country, especially against the ruthless Nazis? Few, I dare say. Though a few people will always be over-the-top in the signs they create to communicate their message, it is no different on the Left or the Right – except the Right has never protested before. There are a lot of things we have never done before , but America! That is going to change and is changing. As Judy in New York, and people all across this nation say: “Silent No More.” We are awake, we don’t like what we see and we mean business, but NOT as usual.
We believe so much in Liberty and Freedom, free markets and limited government that we are willing to stand until we fall for these beliefs. This is the bedrock of America and we are feeling the pressures of Socialism coming from the Unions and those in the White House. We will immediately do all to get our nation back, yes BACK from the precipice of Socialism. When I hear people as “What do you mean back?” that is exactly what is meant. America has always been the light in this world and we will not bow to foreign kings as some in power in this country today.
I expect next year’s march to be twice as large as this year’s because we are slowly waking up across the nation; because Washington DC is a city that produces tone-death-blind-politicians. We are going to give them back their sight and hearing – even if we have to lay our hands on them and say a prayer or two. If we don’t put the fear of God in them, we will put the fear of the people in them. We are Silent No More!
Can You Hear Us Now
