I was dumbfounded. Did I hear that right? I was watching Fox News, listening to the Democrats and the Republicans expound on Health Care from the rotunda of the Capitol building. The conversation was tense and had my attention. I felt uneasy, as I have since the election when hope slowly turned to despair as Glenn Beck uncovered the videos of those in power behind closed doors with no requirement that they be approved by Congress. Normally this would not be a problem, but these are not normal times: we evidently have elected a European leaning President who believes more in their system than our Capitalistic one. We are moving toward Socialism like an out-of-control freight train heading into San Bernardino from the pass above. I was first alerted to what Obama is and how he stood apart from our founding leaders from starting the “5,000 Year Leap,” a book I recently delved into. This book is one that every young person in America should be forced to read and understand before leaving High School, with more advanced study in college. It is the roadmap of how our Country was founded, “The Why This Is In There” more than just what the Constitution says. It gives us the mortar to actually put the building blocks of the Constitution together and one of the forms of government our Forefathers rejected outright - the Socialist system being birthed in Europe. In fact, they downright rejected it out of hand. I was surprised that they not only understood Socialism but that they lived during the time of great debates about it in Europe. It appears President Obama rejected our past leaders wisdom and has decided to embrace a losing system that will make us far less than the great country we are today. Our greatest days are behind us if we as a Nation take on this monstrous debt and future grinding down of the wealth of our children. We must stop the madness now or the future generations will only know the bitterness of being 2nd class citizens of the world – working and breaking their backs to pay the interest on the debt that is owed. We will have turned America into Slaves to the World. Is that the goal? Please convince me that it isn’t so, bro!
Worse, those we depended on for insight and revelation turned their backs on the American people, moving into the camp of the President; providing a means to enable and spins his spin instead of delivering truth. I speak of the perfidious Press that is dying because the American people are turning their back on their words of wormwood, good only for starting fires in the fireplace on a brisk morning, or wrapping up the entrails of dead fish. Truth has died, except at Fox News. I don’t speak of the commentators there, but of the hard-news staff, the best of any on any network. No others are trusted, not even by Progressives. We now seem to have a media full of Socialist; a Democratic Government full of Socialist and a nation of people that tends to lean toward the middle (which is far right of just twenty years ago), or toward the center. They simply don’t understand the American people they represent because they are too focused on the streets and communities they organized in.
As I was saying in the beginning, I was dumbfounded as I listened to the Senators on Fox News speak of what our government was doing in Washington regarding Health Care, keeping the Senate Bill hidden in the Speakers office, not letting anyone read it; giving us 72 hours to understand it, having the vote on a Saturday evening at 8:00 P.M. when lackadaisical Americans are off doing something else, a 14.4 trillion dollar debt projected for next year. What our elected officials are doing is so diametrically opposed to what our Founders believed – and what they warned us about. We are doing the exact opposite, going down the road in the wrong direction of what they instructed and the people have become so uneducated as to what they have, so lackadaisical about their freedom and the cost of it and how easily it can be taken from them, that they have no idea that the freight train coming at them is a train full of debt and despair.
