The Right Starts Finding Its Voice - Silent No More!

What many fail to understand, the anger of the American people, is growing; the power of the Federal Government is growing, the power of the unions is growing and there is going to be one hell of an explosion coming that will shake the foundation of this country all the way back to the original Constitution. Laugh, make fun and continue to ignore the freight train bearing down on you. It doesn't matter because now it is about the American people. They will be in the streets in the coming year.

how are the unions getting stronger? Lower density, a destroyed industrial base, no card check (as promised)-in what ways are they stronger? As a union member, I don't think this is true. I think people are angry, and they should be but loud pronouncements about big government and unions is really lame since no one can cite all the freedoms they've lost and powers gained by these entities.

I don't think you people would like the country if we turned back the clock to 1880 (before progressivism, like Beck wants) or 1787 like you people want. I revere the constitution as well but I've actually read it, I'm not sure you people have. It wasn't meant to be a fixed document.

Thank you for the reply. Maybe we can each come to a better understanding. The unions have a place, but they cannot force themselves between the people and their government or they will be turned on and turned out. They will lose all good will when they use intimidation and threats on the common man and woman who are interested in government and it’s out of control behavior with no genuine care or appreciation of the people who elect them to office. Too many people go to Washington and think they are entitled to tell the rest of us how to life. I am reminded of the turncoat Spector the defector who was a Democrat until he couldn’t get his way; then a Republican until he realized he wasn’t wanted any longer, and now a Democrat again because he just doesn’t get it – he isn’t loved and wanted any longer. He is not the leadership any of us want but we may be stuck with him because he servers someone’s purpose to get an agenda passed so they will put money, contacts and power at his disposal. Too bad, huh? We all lose in that deal.

Regarding your comment about Socialism and our founding fathers; they were extremely well educated on all governments up until their time. What we have today is only because of their great sagacity and commitment to studying the forms and functions of governments, especially the failures before. While in Paris Thomas Jefferson sent hundreds of crated books back for Alexander Hamilton to read, all on the history of the world’s governments, which have been handed down to us today. I’m thankful that the printing press was invented. Also, they didn’t have TV, Radio, Computers, Phones… these men were far better read and educated than we are. We have technology, they had wisdom.

The Founders Warn Against the Drift Toward Collectivist Left: (From: 5000 Year Leap)

…the Founders warned against a number of temptations which might lure subsequent generations to abandon their freedoms and their rights by subjecting themselves to a strong federal administration operating on the collectivist Left.

They warned against the “welfare state” where the government endeavors to take care of everyone from the cradle to the grave. Jefferson wrote:

“If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretense of taking care of them, they must become happy.” (Bergh, Writings of Thomas Jefferson, 10:342.)

They warned against confiscatory taxation and deficit spending. Jefferson said it was immoral for one generation to pass on the results of its extravagance in the form of debts to the next generation. He wrote: “…we shall all consider ourselves unauthorized to saddle posterity with our debts, and morally bound to pay them ourselves; and consequently within what may be deemed the period of a generation, or the life [expectancy] of the majority.” (Bergh, Writings of Thomas Jefferson 13:358)

Every generation of Americans struggled to pay off the national debt up until the present one.

The Founders also warned that the only way for the nation to prosper was to have equal protection of “rights,” and not allow the government to get involved in trying to provide equal distribution of “things.” They also warned against the pooling of property as advocated by the proponents of communism. Samuel Adams said they had done everything possible to make the ideas of socialism and communism unconstitutional. Said he:

“The Utopian schemes of leveling [re-distribution of the wealth] and a community of goods [central ownership of the means of production and distribution], are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the Crown. [These ideas] are arbitrary, despotic, and in our government, unconstitutional.” 17 (William V. Wells, The Life and Public Services of Samuel Adams, 3 volumes, Little, Brown and Company, Boston 1865, 1:154)

Though I have partially answered your claim, I have found that most people don’t seek truth; they seek to destroy or attack everything that is against their own personal proclivities. It reminds me of the dysfunctional way our government works today, actually.

Regarding the Constitution; that is another debate. The one thing it attempts is to keep us out of the ditch, AND, keep most of the powers in the States – to the point of having Senators chosen by the States instead of the people because they wanted the Senators to be accountable directly to the States, keeping power focused there, because the House would be elected by popular vote. Of course, we in our wisdom did the very thing they set out not to do – made the Senators accountable to no one but special interest – which they also warned us about but we didn’t listen.

Our Constitution has been trashed by the Federal Government. Even our current Senators and Congressmen will tell you that most of what they do they have no Constructional power to do. It would have to be determined in the Courts.

The States have been weak but they are now being forced to change. by the people of the States. There are a number of States which are reclaiming their right to any and all powers not specifically handed to the Federal Government, for as you know these were explicitly deemed belonging to the States and the people of the States.

There was tremendous fear by the Founding Fathers that the Federal Government would become too powerful. Why? Because they just fought a war because of that very thing – the powers were far removed from the people in a city far away and could care less about the common man and his concerns. They only wanted what they wanted, period. Sound familiar? You can call them Democrat or Republican – doesn’t matter. It is time that WE THE PEOPLE understand what our government truly is and make sure we allow no one to take it away, rule-by-rule, law-by-law, regulation-by-regulation until we are owned lock-stock-and barrel by powers that have slowly stolen away our freedoms and liberty and left us slaves to the world in the form of a mountain of debt that can never be paid! Fear! Because that is what is happening to us. That is why the dollar has fallen 30% in just a short time. Did you make 30% returns on your investments in the last 2 years? Guess what, you got screwed, too. Just watch what happens to our children and grandchildren. That is why American Citizens are seeking each other out. You can call the Tea Party, Patriots, whatever. They are just scared and angry citizens. They see past the change, they look farther, into the future and truly tremble with fear and anger. They must act – they are compelled, for the first time in their life, because the situation has become that dire. Just watch the NY Times and other media in the coming year. They are starting to understand the calamity coming and even they realize they must start broaching this terrible politically destructive subject. They have no choice for they will become completely irrelevant if they don’t – but they will. Watch.

Nowhere in the Constitution is their power given to the Federal Government to force anyone to purchase Health insurance or be fined and jailed. That is not a Federal duty or Power. That power belongs to the States and it will be in the Supreme Court and the nation will watch and the powers that be grapple with these issues. They have been let off easy on some of these things in the past, but no more. If they chose wrong, the next generation will swing and vote until all are replaced eventually. The only fear is that it may be too late to save America. Hopefully they will be honest brokers in interpreting the Constitution; not rewriting it to their political way of thinking.

The Constitution has very specific language on how it can be changed. It is not a rubber balloon that expands and contracts with the political party in power – no matter what they may tell us.

Lastly, your comment about where were we during George Bush? You are absolutely correct in asking that question. As I said, we were asleep. We believed that the Republicans and Democrats would not do so much harm to our nation that we would be deeply wounded and hurt – the power was somewhat balanced out with the Democrats in the House and the Republicans in the White House. We were wrong for believing in them and I apologize. We will not make that mistake again and many of both parties will possibly bite the dust in 2010; I hope so.

We should have all been wrapping arms around DC and demanding that they govern for WE THE PEOPLE. That doesn’t mean the government takes care of every booboo or becomes our big brother. It also doesn’t mean that the government doesn’t work for the common good of her citizens. Our problem(s) are pretty much the same on both sides of the center: There is no balance in DC any longer and our politicians are leading us into a civil war that will be fought on many levels in our nation. It won’t necessarily be fought with knives and guns but it could be just as dangerous to our vital interest. I am truly afraid for our nation and totally put off by our current leadership at all levels. We need to clean house and White Hose and get people who will work together for America. We don’t have that at any level in Washington, today. They don’t seem to have a clue that they are alienating everyone: Left – Right and Center! Only the political class is happy and that should scare the hel# out of all of us. Only the government, and soon the unions, are growing.

Since I have continued to educate myself, partcularly at present, with the US Constitution and its history from 1787 to present, including all the assaults to its integrity and preservation, I wholeheartedly accept the claims from the left that we were asleep during the Bush 2 years.  I was not a supporter of the Iraq invasion but have been jolted by the many examples of the illegality of policy and undermining of the Constitution which took place under that administration.  I will not fall asleep again!
We can not be complacent with the labels that those who wish to seek seats of power may ascribe to themselves.  It is not whether the individual assigns him or herself as Dem or Rep, liberal, progressive, conservative, libertarian. It is the content of their actions which defines where they align with our principles.  And we must vote accordingly!  We must begin at the local level and pressure our states to assert their right and responsibility to govern, serve and protect their constituents and deny attempts of the Fed to usurp their rights.

  2. I hear on occasion:  "Where were you the past 8 years?"  Now I ask back "Where are you now as our country is being taken down the path of Socialism?"
