As my spouse was flying into Michigan from Chicago, in a short-flight leg that started in California, I started noticing on CNN that that there was breaking news. I have Direct TV and one of the things I like about it is that he has a matrix of News Channel program so I can see what is on CNN, MSNBC, Fox Business, HLN, Fox News, CNBC and several other channels, all at the same time. I can move a small yellow frame around the screen to chose which station I want to hear the audio as well. CNN did an excellent job of bringing the “Breaking News” out on this the same day it was happening, whereas the other channels anchors were off for the Christmas Holiday and did excellent reporting and follow-up, filling in more of the gaps, the next two days.

I knew something had gone wrong with a flight in that there was an Airbus parked on the Taxiway of the large regional airport outside of Detroit, an airport I have flown in and out of many times over the years. Of particular concern, when I heard that an attempted terror attack had possibly not gone as planned, was my feeling of concern for my wife who was on a flight to Michigan at that very moment? Some things are a little close for comfort and this was one of them.
Watching the events and the little that was known and the much that was still hidden from us, not knowing how many flights were affected, I started contemplated how different the approach of President Obama vs. President Bush on the war on Terror. I believe that all American will agree with me that President Bush took extremely seriously the dangers of attacks on U.S. interest, and the country itself. He was adamant, focused and never wavered. We always knew where he stood and he didn’t play games with political correctness or cared that much that European nations, who had basically turned their back on America when we entered Iraq and freed 50,000,000 people, really approved or not. It was nice to have the world behind you in your actions but there are times, he felt, that useless UN resolutions that were making UN officials multi-millionaires I the oil-for-food program, were time to cast aside. It was the “War On Terror,” and we all knew it.
Contrast that to President Obama. What does he give us? First, the attacks on the Bush administration, who kept us safe after 9-11 (the attacks were planned mostly under President Clinton’s administration but terrorist actions were more police issues before 9-11). The Clinton Administration, utilizing Eric Holder, had built fire-walls between the agencies so they couldn’t discuss issues between the CIA and the FBI. They basically weren’t talking to each other though some of the 9-11 terrorist were on the CIA’s.
Obama brings back a feeling of helplessness that we are going to let the police handle the problem of terrorist. I get the feeling he wants to be political correct for his friends in Egypt and Turkey. Instead of military tribunals, where these terrorist should be tried, we are going to us American Courts to prosecute terrorist who planned destruction from afar, wore no military uniform, were captured on foreign soil, and evidently will have years to fight in our system to keep their message alive. It is the worst of the worst giving America the worst. Eric Holder reminds me of someone who is totally incompetent to be making the decisions he has before him, and the President is painting himself into a corner with red paint.
After the attack on our soldiers by a terrorist in Texas, I thought that the President would come out with a strong statement condemning the attack with gravitas. My jaw hit the floor as I watched him later speak; he was bantering and jovial, gave someone recognition that in error and gave him a callout, and then made a comment. I knew in that moment that this president had a lot to learn and was a green as a piece of new cut wood. In fact, we are in trouble if this is the kind of leadership he is going to show. Worse, he had his Army representative come out and whine that he didn’t want to see a backlash against Muslims. Huh? We were more concerned that they know what was happening and why they didn’t act on all the information they had on this terrorist. They might as well have given him a gun, armor and a green light to open fire in a closed room filled with unarmed soldiers – a terrorist dream come true. Instead of an honest review from the Obama administration, we got the ole soft-shoe. No thank you, Mr. President; I want you to put America’s interest first, and you did not convince us by your performance at all. You have a foot in the Muslim world and it shows. Quit sucking up to the Muslims and start sucking up to American’s or I can promise you a one-term Presidency. Americans may be long suffering but once we see we are being taking for fools, we act quickly and decisively. Count on it – when you count your future votes and the votes of our comrades next November.
You can say anything you want about George W. Bush but you can say he didn’t care deeply for the people and the protection of the people of America – maybe even to a fault. With President Obama – we don’t even know who this man is or what his history is because the media have protected him from the American people. Isn’t it time that love affair end and we get back to objective fact-finding and reporting. Let’s find out some of the writings and history of President Obama so we can understand what he is doing and where he is taking America. Maybe we don’t want his agenda once we know what it is.
One thing we do know about this president, and the media: They have tied their wagon to him and will do everything to propagandize his message because if he fails – the American people will turn on the Media who have protected him and lied for him and we will rend them to pieces – with anger!
