New Record Smashed By Democrats In December.
Who would have guessed that in just a little over a year the high-flying “We Are Going To Do it Our Way” Democrats would smash the record of those who consider themselves Democrats – but through the floor? That’s right, a new low for the Democrats and with elections coming up in just a little over ten months there must be some gnashing of teeth in the Democratic leadership. They certainly should not be casting stones at the Tea Party because those voters illustrate a passion that every Democrat leader would salivate for. Unfortunately, it is squarely against what the Democrats are doing and there is going to be hell paid in November. Some people are starting to compare the upcoming election as a possible 1994 and this on CNN. That has to be worrying when the whispers of concerns and tiffs are starting to slowly eek out of the sieve of Washington.
In the seven years Rasmussen Reports have been following the Democrats, never has the number fallen to the new low of 35.5%. When you look at the fact there are 65% of the people who would rather call themselves something else, they can’t be too happy. The Republicans are worse, which leads me to believe that there may be a watershed moment in history we are living through where the two parties have turned the American People off so badly that we would rather vote for a yellow dog before voting for either one of them. Of course, as you know, the term Blue Dog came from Democrats who came from Southern States and said that they were strangled Blue by the Democrat leadership to vote the way they were told – more liberal.
Interestingly, the Republicans are now within 1.5% of the Democrats, the smallest spread since August 2005. I consider them basically neck and neck – two peas in the same pod – no body really likes them anymore and no one surely would not die for them, as Alexander Hamilton (Big Government and Big Brother) did at the delivery of a bullet by a better shot Burr (Sitting Vice President and States Rights – heck with the Big Brother stuff). We think that things get a little out of hand when some old person shouts at their elected official today? We are babes in the woods of politics. Thomas Jefferson once shot a man on the White House lawn. We are just powder puff followers today. We have a lot to learn from the original guys. They were a very tough lot and few of us really know anything about them – which is sad. I personally have started studying about the great men and women who founded this nation, as well as Roman and Greek History. If they studied it to get a better idea of what not to do, we should study it to appreciate what they gave us! We take it so for granted, and the rest of the world wants to tear down our house, put rules and regulations on America to bring her back into the fold and allow us not to go our own way any longer. Make no mistake, we are not appreciated by the elite of Europe and never have been. We are still outback hicks to Europe, but I will take what we have to what they have any day. If we are to keep it, we must stand for something and that something is the foundational beliefs America was established upon – no matter what political name you call yourself.
If you drew a square equally divided by two lines and called one box “Democrat,” another “Republican, Independent, Don’t Care’ you would have four boxes. If we now looked at these four boxes and asked, “Where does Conservative/Progressive fit over this?” The answer would be flexibility. We can be conservative in our money, but liberal in our social values, or the other way around. We can be against the death penalty, and then one of our children are slaughtered by a gang member while they are standing on a street corner buying ice-cream from the ice cream truck. Now we are for the death penalty. My point is that we change over time. We start very liberal, and typically end up more conservative. There is good in the progressive movement and good in the conservative movement. The problem is we have divided into two big gangs, and it is getting worse. We even now have our gang colors – red states and blue states. Demographically, Liberals in the big cities and slums; Conservatives in the small towns and open country, seem to be the fit. Someone moves to the country, they may grow more conservative is someone comes by and shoots their mailbox off their post with a shotgun, or shoot their dog. Someone else goes to the big city and decides to go to school at Berkeley. There’s no hope for them, they have to come out of there liberal or they failed in their education.
We need to get away from political parties. People are moving to the independent status, such as I, faster than a grasshopper on a hot-tin roof. We need to find the things we agree upon, put the party hacks out of a job, get people into Congress that are fresh and new faces with new ideas, and accept no more of this house and senate divided. They work on bills they can agree upon – without corruption of pork – for the benefit of the nation and the states that the people are well informed of, or we write laws so that we can impeach them. Currently you cannot impeach a Representative or Senator. Let’s change that. Also, let’s get the Senators back over to the State houses where they belong. We took the power of the States away when we made the Senators elected the same as the House – by populist vote. That was not the way it was set up nor meant to be for very specific reasons. So the Democrats hit a new low Record, and the Republicans hit a new low record, as far as I am concerned. They are both just two peas in the same pod, and the independents are growing in leaps and bounds. Is anyone listening in Washington? I hope so.

Okay Keith - we still need a two thumbs up button :) Great Job!
ReplyDeleteJeff just saw a sign name on a local paper here where he has been blogging with the name of NOBAMA2012! We have a 'special election' coming up here the end of January - we will see at this time how many people are waking up. It is only on little things like taxes, but it taxes on those evil businesses, so what does it matter anyways huh? LOL!
One observation that got me the other day as Jeff and I were talking is that the Candidates talk all about what they believe in. Should they not be talking about what the people that they will be / do represent believe? How does what they personally believe in matter as long as what they are voting for represents the people that they are to represent?
