Rutgers University may be known for a number of things but is surly doesn't want to be associated with the Black Sorority Sigma Gamma Rho.  Six members were arrested for allegedly beating eight young pledges.  They were paddled with wooden instruments over the eight days until blood clots formed and the pledges could not even sit down!  Everything blew wide open when one of the pledges went to her mother to take her to the hospital.  Rutgers quickly shut down the off campus Sorority - which is commendable.

The pledges were told there would be no hazing, that they did not believe in it. Surprise!  Now the surprised ones are the six Sorority members arrested and charged with b really hazing the young pledges, one who had to be hospitalized.  They were charged with felony aggravated hazing.

All of our hearts should go out to these young women and our concern be for the safety of all our children from such violence when we send them to College or University for a higher education.  Maybe it is time to take a closer look at what happens in these groups on and around our college campuses. When it comes to our children, color doesn't mean a damn thing - no matter who's children they are. This is a basic root of all humanity - even the sinner, per God, for what parent gives their child a snake when they ask for food? It should be no different for education.
