Draft Kudlow’ Movement Picking Up Steam

Draft Kudlow’ Movement Picking Up Steam

A rising voice is calling for CNBC talk host and supply-side economist Larry Kudlow to challenge liberal New York Sen. Chuck Schumer in this year’s election.

And Kudlow said he is going to give a possible run “careful consideration.”
Newsmax first disclosed that Kudlow could have political aspirations back in March 2009, reporting that he was mulling a bid for Democratic Sen. Christopher Dodd’s Senate seat from Connecticut. Kudlow announced several weeks later that he wasn’t running.

But on Jan. 20, Newsmax reported that “the New York political scene is buzzing with talk of a movement to draft Larry Kudlow” to run as a Republican challenger to Schumer.

Several media outlets cited and/or linked to the Newsmax story in the days that followed, including Politico and The Village Voice in New York.

Then on Sunday, Jan. 24, the Buffalo News reported that Michael Caputo, who served as a speechwriter for Rep. Jack Kemp, is leading an online movement to draft Kudlow for the race, and has set up a Web site at http://news.newsmax.com/?SKIvYtGj-UIr1UgDufvDvPWHzYlexLUAS&http://www.draftkudlow.com.

“No one in New York State deserves to stay home more than Chuck Schumer, and I really believe Larry Kudlow is the one person who can send him home,” he told the newspaper.

And Caputo told Newsmax: “It’s time for Chuck Schumer to be sent packing.”

DHS grant programs totaling more than $2.7 billion. Is this money down the drain?

Photo: DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano.

On Tuesday, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano released the fiscal 2010 grant application guidance kits for 13 DHS grant programs totaling more than $2.7 billion. The money provides state, local and tribal governments and private-sector entities funding to strengthen the nation’s ability to prevent, protect, respond to and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies.

“These grants play a major role in our efforts to work with our state, local, tribal and territorial and private-sector partners to build a national culture of readiness and resilience,” Napolitano said in a statement. “This year’s guidance focuses on maximizing efficiency and value, while prioritizing risk in awarding grants to strengthen our nation’s security.”

The guidance has increased tribal funding, reduced administrative paperwork for state and local government, and enabled local jurisdictions to use preparedness funding for ongoing maintenance contracts, warranties, repair or replacement costs, upgrades and user fees for equipment purchased with previous DHS grants.

Environmentalism as Religion" by Michael Crichton

"Environmentalism as Religion"
by Michael Crichton---Commonwealth Club---San Francisco, CA---September 15, 2003

I have been asked to talk about what I consider the most important challenge facing mankind, and I have a fundamental answer. The greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda. Perceiving the truth has always been a challenge to mankind, but in the information age (or as I think of it, the disinformation age) it takes on a special urgency and importance.
We must daily decide whether the threats we face are real, whether the solutions we are offered will do any good, whether the problems we're told exist are in fact real problems, or non-problems. Every one of us has a sense of the world, and we all know that this sense is in part given to us by what other people and society tell us; in part generated by our emotional state, which we project outward; and in part by our genuine perceptions of reality. In short, our struggle to determine what is true is the struggle to decide which of our perceptions are genuine, and which are false because they are handed down, or sold to us, or generated by our own hopes and fears.
As an example of this challenge, I want to talk today about environmentalism. And in order not to be misunderstood, I want it perfectly clear that I believe it is incumbent on us to conduct our lives in a way that takes into account all the consequences of our actions, including the consequences to other

Six Rutgers coeds busted in sorority hazing

Rutgers University may be known for a number of things but is surly doesn't want to be associated with the Black Sorority Sigma Gamma Rho.  Six members were arrested for allegedly beating eight young pledges.  They were paddled with wooden instruments over the eight days until blood clots formed and the pledges could not even sit down!  Everything blew wide open when one of the pledges went to her mother to take her to the hospital.  Rutgers quickly shut down the off campus Sorority - which is commendable.

The pledges were told there would be no hazing, that they did not believe in it. Surprise!  Now the surprised ones are the six Sorority members arrested and charged with b really hazing the young pledges, one who had to be hospitalized.  They were charged with felony aggravated hazing.

All of our hearts should go out to these young women and our concern be for the safety of all our children from such violence when we send them to College or University for a higher education.  Maybe it is time to take a closer look at what happens in these groups on and around our college campuses. When it comes to our children, color doesn't mean a damn thing - no matter who's children they are. This is a basic root of all humanity - even the sinner, per God, for what parent gives their child a snake when they ask for food? It should be no different for education.

The Democrats have evidently decided that all the Tea Party Patriots are a bunch of right wing loons who all believe President Obama is not a citizen and is a Socialist.  (Personally, I believe he is a socialist and has surrounded himself with Left-Wingers who are Socialist - especially the Union heads).

To win the next elections Democrats have decided to attack the Tea Party and tie Republicans to them.  What they don't understand is that the Tea Party Patriots are made up of the normal base of America that works, pays taxes for the 1/2 of the nation who don't pay taxes and have fought in most of the wars our nation have sent us to.  How many liberals do you think are supporting our nation in the armed forces today, for example?  Progressives are too busy going to, or sending their children to, schools like Berkley so they can tell the rest of us how to live.

Check out the following link.  It's time to roll up our sleeves and ATTACK the Ugly Head of the Democrats.  It's time to show the Democrats the face of the American people and we aren't who they are trying to paint us as.

Tea Parties shake up political races across the USA - USATODAY.com

Woe to Democrats and Republicans that don't take the Tea Party Patriots seriously now! Poo-pooed as "AstroTurf" by the main-stream media, leaders of the Democrat party, and some in the Republican party, are no longer writing them off now. When it became apparent that Brown had a chance to knock off Coakley in the Mass race for the Senate, members of the Tea Party swept into the state almost over nigth to help get out the vote and support Brown. Democrats were as stunned as some Republicans at the organizational skills of a group that does not have a leader. These are American citizens who love their country and connected with Twitter and Facebook have organized and found others of like mind. America will never be the same again. Unless the government does something to limit our ability to communicate and organize we will demand and expect: purity of purpose, honesty, sacrifice of self-interest, and plain ole good leadership from our future elected officials.

No longer will the nation except the status quo. We now have almost instant communication, and with the introduction today of the Apple Ipad that weighs 1.5 lbs and gives you the ability to plug us into the world like never before, politicians can no longer rule from backrooms as they do currently. Today Congress and the White House must operate more and more in a glass house and if they don't the American people will take the great eraser of politics and simply remove them from power at the ballot box. We will no longer allow families to set up legacy-seats of power where children follow parents into the same seat of power. Son Biden chose correctly in not pursuing his father's Senate seat. We saw that occur in Rome, which lasted far longer than we have, and the Roman Empire failed from a weak leadership eventually. Just as they had enemies at their borders, as they over expanded, so do we and we as a Nation are over expanded. Just as an Empire, we have outpost all over the world - far beyond other nations, yet we do not receive triubte as other Empires in history.  Our outpost actually cost America's citizens.  We are the only Nation in history that pays to be at the Empire Status.  This too must cease.

We must read and learn of the History of previous governments and the errors they made - just as our fonding fathers did. They were very cognizant of Greek and Rome's forms of government, as well as the coming socialist movements in Europe. They gave us a Republic "If you can keep it," per Benjamin Franklin. We THE PEOPLE are showing that not only can we keep it, we are just as adamant today that we try as they were when they first gave it to us and we are just beginning to roll up our sleeves and protect out nation from the Socialilst and Communistic leaning wolves that have slipped into the doors of power in Washington with this current Administration - a group that hates Corporations and the Capitalistic System and has said so.

The following link to USA Today illustrates how America's children are preparing the nation for the future and not giving up on who we are - even when a few try to cram down our throats who we are going to be. America is too great for that small form of Socialistic thinking.

USDA, NAVY SIGN AGREEMENT TO ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

WASHINGTON, January 21, 2010 – The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of the Navy (DoN) today announced that leadership from the two departments have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to encourage the development of advanced biofuels and other renewable energy systems.
"This agreement is part of President Obama's vision of a coordinated federal effort to build a clean energy economy, create new jobs and reduce our dependence on foreign oil," said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. "USDA looks forward to working with the Navy and other public and private partners to advance the production of renewable energy by sharing technical, program management and financial expertise."
Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus emphasized how partnering with USDA supports his vision for energy reform. Mabus' overarching goal is to increase warfighting capability. "In order to secure the strategic energy future of the United States, create a more nimble and effective fighting force, and protect our planet from destabilizing climate changes, I have committed the Navy and Marine Corps to meet aggressive energy targets that go far beyond previous measures."
From a strategic perspective the objective is to reduce reliance on fossil fuels from volatile areas of the world. Tactically, on the battlefield, the costs of transporting fuel is exponentially increased; in extreme cases a gallon of gasoline could cost up to $400. Mabus continued "Even more serious and sobering, we are putting our Sailors and Marines in harms way as fuel convoys often meet a lethal enemy." To address this reality Mabus recently announced five ambitious energy targets for the Navy and Marine Corps and biofuels are a major component of four of those goals. Those targets are summarized below:
  • When awarding contracts, appropriately consider energy efficiency and the energy footprint as additional factors in acquisition decisions.
  • By 2012, demonstrate a Green Strike Group composed of nuclear vessels and ships powered by biofuel. By 2016 sail the Strike Group as a Great Green Fleet composed of nuclear ships, surface combatants equipped with hybrid electric alternative power systems running on biofuel, and aircraft running on biofuel.
  • By 2015 cut petroleum use in its 50,000 non-tactical commercial fleet in half, by phasing in hybrid, flex fuel and electric vehicles.
  • By 2020 produce at least half of shore based installations' energy requirements from alternative sources. Also 50 percent of all shore installations will be net zero energy consumers.
  • By 2020 half of DoN's total energy consumption for ships, aircraft, tanks, vehicles and shore installations will come from alternative sources.
The MOU complements USDA and The Navy and Marine Corps' existing renewable energy programs and efforts. USDA has a variety of programs and services that support renewable energy development, including:
  • Rural Development loan and grant programs focused on developing renewable energy systems and helping agricultural producers and businesses adopt energy efficiency improvements;
  • The Farm Service Agency's Biomass Crop Assistance Program, which supports the establishment and production of crops for conversion to bioenergy, biobased products and power, and
  • The Research, Education and Economics division's comprehensive bioenergy research program focused on developing new varieties and hybrids of bioenergy feedstocks.
The Department of the Navy recently established a Naval Energy Office to develop and employ proven business models and investment strategies that leverage public and private investment to achieve naval, defense, and national energy goals.
The parties will work together to support President Obama's initiative to make the United States a global leader in developing a renewable energy economy, reducing energy consumption derived from fossil fuels, and increasing energy production from renewable energy sources. The United States has abundant natural resources – including wind, solar, hydrokinetic, ocean, geothermal, and land for biomass energy crops – that can be refined into biofuels to meet commercial, military transportation and other energy needs.
USDA Rural Development administers and manages more than 40 housing, business, and community infrastructure and facility programs through a network of 6,100 employees located in 500 national, state and local offices. These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers and ranchers and improve the quality of life in rural America. Rural Development has an existing portfolio of more than $125 billion in loans and loan guarantees.
USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) facilitates income support, disaster assistance and conservation programs for the nation's farmers. It provides operating loans for the procurement of farm equipment, seed and fertilizer, and offers ownership loans to help new and veteran producers purchase a farm. FSA also works to procure various commodities to benefit low-income families through domestic food assistance programs.
The Research, Education and Economics mission area is dedicated to the creation of a safe, sustainable, competitive U.S. food and fiber system and strong, healthy communities, families and youth through integrated research, analysis and education. This mission area includes the Agricultural Research Service, the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, the Economic Research Service, and the National Agricultural Statistics Service.
