Dunga is someone who has often been misunderstood in Brazil

Dunga is someone who has often been misunderstood in Brazil. People have problems with his attitude. The media does not like him either.

There was a section of the fans that thought the condition of Brazilian Football was only going to get worse with him being appointed as the replacement of Luiz Felipe Scolari.

But, a few months down the line, it’s hard to find the critics of the Brazil boss. There is no one criticizing or crucifying him at the moment and why would there be? He has done such an incredible job for his country.

The 7-1 massacre versus Germany was a disaster for Selecao. It was nothing less than that.

Having revived them from there and that too so well, Dunga must be given some credit now. He very rarely gets that.

Whatever he has touched since taking over from Scolari, he has managed to turn it into gold and that’s because he has gone about things intelligently. Continue reading Dunga is someone who has often been misunderstood in Brazil

Roy Hodgson wants to Stay in National Team

England manager Roy Hodgson is thought to have expressed his desire to stay as the national team boss until the World Cup 2018.

The current contract with the former Liverpool manager ends after the Euro 2016. After a very disappointing World Cup 2014, the possibility of Hodgson continuing as the manager beyond the European Championship only rests with the national team performing extremely well in this tournament. If they suffered yet another embarrassing exit, it is highly unlikely that Hodgson will be given the time to continue despite his ambitions plans of reducing the average age of the team.

Since taking over as the England team boss just before the Euro 2012, Hodgson has been actively involved in trying to overcome the transitional phase for this England team.He has brought in a number of young players to the fold, but it has also been forced due to retirements of top players like Ashley Cole and Steven Gerrard in the last 12 months. A disappointing World Cup 2014 will not have been what the English FA had in mind when they extended the contract of the former West Brom boss until the Euro 2016. In fact, Hodgson was widely expected to leave the national team role after this poor World Cup. Continue reading Roy Hodgson wants to Stay in National Team

England vs Scotland Friendly Match

England and Scotland faced each other in a high-profile friendly that was a throwback to the yesterday matches.

It finished as a 3-1 win for the English and it gives them a lot of confidence on the back of recent results. England were very much criticised after a disappointing World Cup 2014 in which they were knocked out at the group stages. Since then, the team has undergone several changes, both forced and involuntary, due to the retirement of important players and the emergence of talented youngsters.

After managing to win all of their Euro 2016 qualifying matches up until now, England took on Scotland in this friendly. Wayne Rooney moved closer to the all-time national team record by scoring two goals, while Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened scoring early in the first half. Scotland were expected to put a great fight in the encounter due to the recent form, but the goal from Robertson late in the second half only proved to be a consolation. Scotland manager Gordon Strachan said after the match that his players may have been taken aback little due to the intensity with which England played especially in the first half.

Hodgson was a pleased man after the match. He now can prepare his team for the next round of international matches that take place only in March.”We’re disappointed, at the end of the year, to finish it with defeat. There could be a couple of things that made that happen. One was definitely an England side that were determined and as intense as I have seen them for a long time.I think that goes down a lot to what they might have thought happened if they didn’t do that.I think we’ve got to say well done to England. That’s a team full of Champions League players,” said Gordon Strachan.
